       FUEL INJECTOR CLEANING/SERVICE PHOTOS

This is an internal page of www.JAGUARFUELINJECTORSERVICE.com

The following series of photos were taken on Friday August 20, 2004.  The injectors  were from a 1985 Jaguar XJS with 62,000 mileage.  The injectors were purchased from a private seller over the Internet.  No other details available on the vehicle. The XJS is a V12 engine, so the injectors were tested in two groups of 6 injectors...(group A and B). The text to the left of each photo describes the written facts, while the photos show the visual aspect.  The photography was done by me personally, and is un-retouched.  After the initial pre-cleaning pattern test and pre-cleaning flow volume test, I was very skeptical that the injectors were worthwhile.  However, I continued with the photos, ran a 30 minute cleaning cycle on each group, and retested.  Judge the results for yourself.  Flow rates shown in the below testings are for 30 seconds.  To equate these flow rates to the industry standard measurements for injectors, multiply times 2.

GROUP A   (1 thur 6)

PRE CLEANING PATTERN TEST

All injectors failed the pattern test, except injector 5 which was fair.  Note the variation in the pattern spray directions and spray atomization.

GROUP A   (1 thru 6)

POST CLEANING PATTERN TEST

All injectors now have the exact same pattern direction and proper atomization.  The "apparent"  short pattern spray tail in injector 6 is due to photo quality.

GROUP A   (1 thur 6)

PRE CLEANING FLOW VOLUME TEST                                                                               (30 seconds @ 3 bars)

#1...57 ml

#2...63.5 ml

#3...63.5 ml

#4...91 ml

#5...101 ml

#6...79.5 ml

Numbering is from left to right.

GROUP A   (1 thru 6)

POST CLEANING FLOW VOLUME TEST                                 (30 seconds @ 3 bars)

#1...104 ml

#2...104.5 ml

#3...105  ml

#4...104.5 ml

#5...104.5 ml

#6...105 ml

GROUP B  ( 7 thru 12)

PRE CLEANING PATTERN TEST

Again, note the variation clearly visible in the pattern direction and atomization.  1 and 3 were fairly good, 2 was fair, while 4, 5 and 6  failed.

GROUP B   (7 thru 12)

POST CLEANING PATTERN TEST

All injectors now have matching spray pattern and proper atomization.

GROUP B   (7 thru 12)

PRE CLEANING FLOW VOLUME TEST                                          ( 30 seconds @ 3 bars)

#1...98.5 ml

#2...103 ml

#3...101 ml

#4...96.5 ml

#5...69.5 ml

#6...68 ml

GROUP B  (7 thru 12)

POST CLEANING FLOW VOLUME TEST                                               (30 seconds @ 3 bars)

#1...104.5 ml

#2...106.5 ml

#3...105 ml

#4...105 ml

#5...105.5 ml

#6...105 ml

These are visible results as well as quantitative results.  They show how ultra sonic cleaning and flow testing work in combination to provide a before and after picture of the effectiveness of our process.
